He also has an extensive background in biomedical research and over 15 years experience in martial arts including capoeira, Jeet Kune Do & Thai Boxing. As one of the most sought after lifestyle-fitness experts in New York, Brett has trained with different celebrities including The View's Star Jones, fashion designer Jill Stuart and CBS's Serena Altschul. Brett was also the co-host of Fit Family, a reality-based fitness show on Discovery's Fit TV and has appeared on The View, Good Morning America and Fox News. He is a recurring fitness expert for the WB - Morning Show and has been featured in various publications including The New York Times, New York Magazine's 'Best of New York', Gotham and Elle Magazine. Brett also has an active role in the community and is involved with many charities, special events and is on the Board of Advisors for the Energy Up! program in the New York City public schools.

Martial arts and sports have always been Brett's passions. Starting at an early age, he excelled in karate, tae kwon do, gymnastics, wrestling and lacrosse. In addition, Brett has remained a dedicated science student; after graduating pre-med from Claremont McKenna College, he co-authored several scientific articles and helped lead biomedical research at Princeton University, UCLA and NYU. Brett's devotion to a holistic lifestyle began eight years ago, when he sustained a debilitating injury to his back from kickboxing. Traditional medicine was unsuccessful, so Brett turned to alternative forms of healing. He changed his lifestyle and began a more mindful approach to recovery: proper training, eating healthy, stretching, meditating and accepting the emotional challenges of physical pain. Four months later, without traditional medicine, Brett cured his injury...and began to develop the integrative and holistic philosophy of Hoebel Fitness.

Brett's most recent endeavors have been creating reVamp®, a highly personalized lifestyle-fitness program, urbanmotion®, a series of cutting-edge group fitness classes and fitnessBrasil™, a group exercise program that fuses the Afro-Brazilian martial art capoeira with yoga, kickboxing and conditioning. Each program has helped transform people's lives through mindful, healthy & empowered living. When not in New York, Brett is traveling to places like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Switzerland, Spain and Italy, sharing the concepts of Hoebel Fitness with other high profile fitness leaders around the world.
